Auto mode is counted as 'premium requests'?

Describe the Bug

I thought auto mode was completely free for unlimited requests, but its still counting in my pool of 500. Is this expected? Why would I choose auto then, Id rather use the model of my choice if its counted in the premium pool anyway.

Steps to Reproduce

Select ‘auto’ as model, check usage dashboard.

Operating System

Linux

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: 1.3.6
VSCode version: 1.99.3

Are you on the Legacy Pro plan since you mentioned 500 requests?

Regular Pro plan does not count requests but tokens instead and there the Auto model is not charged.
