Auto Mode showing “You have hit your usage limit” — Is it really unlimited on Pro?

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Even though Auto Mode is described as “unlimited” for Pro users, I still get the message:

“You have hit your usage limit.”

My dashboard shows that all usage is “Included” (Auto, Claude models, etc.), and my On-Demand Usage is $0.00, yet I can’t continue using Auto Mode due to this limit message.
It seems like Auto Mode has a hidden soft limit, even though it’s supposed to be unlimited.

Steps to Reproduce

Be on the Pro ($20/month) plan.

Use Auto Mode exclusively for coding over several days.

Reach around 200M tokens total usage (based on dashboard metrics).

Suddenly, a pop-up appears: “You have hit your usage limit.”

Auto Mode stops responding until the billing cycle resets.

Expected Behavior

Expected Behavior
Auto Mode should remain accessible and not trigger any usage limit under the Pro plan, since it’s advertised as unlimited and included.
If there is a hidden limit, it should be clearly documented in the plan’s description or usage dashboard.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

For AI issues: which model did you use?

Auto Mode

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Unfortunately Auto mode is no longer unlimited. See Pricing | Cursor Docs . If you got the annual plan before Sept. 15th you would have the unlimited auto until next billing cycle (next year)
