URGENT BUG: After updating Cursor, AUTO no longer supports images.
Worse: ALL my previous conversations with images now FORCE me to use expensive models (Sonnet/GPT-4) even for text-only messages.

This is unacceptable because:

  1. AUTO worked with images yesterday
  2. I’m now forced to pay 5x more for all previous conversations
  3. No way to “clean” image history from conversations

Request: Either fix AUTO to support images again, OR allow clearing image history from conversations to use AUTO.

This is blocking my workflow and significantly increasing costs.

Really! The time wasted on this is money in the bin!

Steps to Reproduce

Every time I enter a conversation where images where previously uploaded, it tells me that the current model AUTO doesn’t support images!!!

auto - sadly!

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a change in how AUTO mode behaves, and we need a bit more info to dig in.

Can you share:

  • Request ID: open the affected chat, top-right menu > Copy Request ID
  • A screenshot of the message: “current model AUTO doesn’t support images”

Let me know once you have the Request ID and I’ll pass it to the team to investigate.

I hope thats what you asked for, I’m not much of an expert
the ves esto (see this?) : is one of my many tries to make AUTO work with a new conversations, but I’m currently using SONNET in a previous AUTO conversation because I can’t continue using AUTO as I get the same message - I have images from previous post and it wont allow me to keep working on Auto, so I have to switch over to SONNET, because all the information of what I am doing is on there… Don’t know if I’m explaining myself…. :pensive_face:
