Describe the Bug

Automation with Slack trigger no longer replying to any users but automation creator. It works fine when automation creator messages the channel, but it doesn’t trigger for anyone else, including cursor users.

Steps to Reproduce

1 . Create an automatoin
2. Set it to trigger on all messages in a public or private channel
3. Message the channel, see that Slack agent replies
4. Have a colleague message the channel, see that Slack cursor agent does not reply

Operating System

Version Information

IDE version is not relevant. This is an automation.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Experiencing the same thing. We have an automation that helps answer & address broader team questions & issues. On April 24 around 12pm EST, the automation stopped triggering.

I just tested and it responded to my message, but not to other non cursor auth’d users, even though we have the “Anyone in channel” setting turned on.

I’m seeing a similar problem, also starting on Friday, but in my case the integration still seems to be triggering for any slack user with a cursor account who is logged into cursor and has the cursor-slack integration configured. As recently as Thursday, it responded for any slack user.

We are seeing the same thing. The “Anyone in channel” automation appears to be totally broken for Slack-triggered automations.

Hi All, @here

Sorry about this, we’ve got a bug report raised, and I’ll let you know when it’s fixed!

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Background Agent (GitHub, Slack, Web, Linear)

Describe the Bug

We have a slack alert system setup with our backend. If a certain feature fails, it send a bot message to a slack public channel.

Also a Cursor cloud agent setup with that channel. so if any alert message post from backend, agent auto pick the message and based on the alert information, make changes on codebase and Create PR on github.

It was working perfectly. But suddenly its stop working from last week. Based on my R&D, it seems not working because of slack bot message. Same Agent is triggering perfectly when I pasting the same alert from my slack account manually. But not working with automated slack bot message.

Steps to Reproduce

To reproduce, needs to setup cloud agent with slack bot message system.
And need to setup a trigger system like I explain from bug description.

Expected Behavior

Cloud agent should trigger even from bot message. Like it was already working before.

MacOS

For AI issues: which model did you use?

Composer 2. But probably is not model specific. Issue is happening for other models too.

Us too! nice to see you here ian!

Hi All @here

I’m happy to report that this has been fixed! Appreciate you all helping call attention to the issue.

Hey. It works again for slack users that also have a cursor account, but not for users without. This seemed to had worked before  .

We went from working for everyone → only working for automation user → working for cursor users I think haha

(Yes, we have the automation trigger on “Anyone in the channel”)

I’m currently seeing a strange mix - it now works for some users without cursor accounts, but there is at least one user without a cursor account that it still won’t respond to.

Yup seeing the same here. Also sometimes responding to the same bot user, sometimes not, seems inconsistent.

Thanks for clarifying! This is very helpful.

I don’t quite follow. Can you explain the context, the automation is responding in the wrong place?

Could you share the automation URL and a person on your team who triggered it successfully and one who didn’t?

Hi Kevin, thanks for following up. I have a support ticket open with cursor about this with more detail. let me know if you can access that or need more info here.

Awesome, thanks for confirming Tim :+1:
