Beach ball of death on my MacBookPro

Thanks for reporting a bug you have found in Cursor!
Please add the following info to help us diagnose your issue:

8-Core Intel Core i9 Processor 2.3 GHz
16 GB Memory
System Firmware Version: 2022.140.5.0.0 (iBridge: 21.16.6074.0.0,0)
OS: Sonoma 14.6.1

I downloaded Cursor from the Cursor web site and installed it.

When I open up the Cursor app, and click on Open Folder, or File Open Folder, I get the Beach Ball of Death, and I’m forced to quit Cursor from the Apple Force Quit.

:no_entry_sign: This issue stops me from using Cursor and I an trying to get a feel for it, by taking advantage of the 2-week free trial.

Hey, you might have downloaded the ARM version. Try reinstalling Cursor. Here’s the correct link:

Also, check if all permissions are granted for Cursor, particularly disk access in the Privacy & Security section.

The new download fixed the problem, but this points to an issue on the main web site that allowed the incorrect installer to download.
