Cursor does not install on Apple M1 MacOS Sequoia 15.2

Thanks for reporting a bug you have found in Cursor!
Please add the following info to help us diagnose your issue:

:white_check_mark: Check the forum to ensure the issue hasn’t been reported already
It is not.

:lady_beetle: Provide a clear description of the bug

Cursor cannot be installed on MacOS from the download on the website. MacOS rejects the downloaded version when you try to move it to the Applications folder (=“install it”). The attempt to install removes the previous version so that’s the end of using Cursor on Mac until you fix this.

Actually an old installer from September 25, 2024, still works, I have a copy of it.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Explain how to reproduce the bug (if known)

Download MacOS version from the website. Then open the DMG file. When you try to move the Cursor executable to the Applications folder, MacOS says “Verifying Cursor…” and then gives an error “Cursor is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to Trash.” I waited to let the download finish, so that’s not the reason for this.

:laptop: Tell us your operating system and your Cursor version (e.g., Windows, 0.x.x).

MacOS 15.2 on an M1 Mac.

:prohibited: Tell us if the issue stops you from using Cursor.

Yes. This also removes your old working version so it’s really bad for any Mac users.

Hey bro, I have it running fine on my M2 macOS 15.0, did you download the wrong architecture version? Here is a complete link with 3 architectures and all versions: GitHub - oslook/cursor-ai-downloads: All Cursor AI's official download links for both the latest and older versions, making it easy for you to update, downgrade, and choose any version. 🚀.
For M1, you should download “darwin-arm64” first to see if it solves your problem
