Can we enable unified new view here?

At the moment the cursor forum is suppressing navigation to new topics and posts.

For example, if I directly hit the URL:

https://forum.cursor.com/new

I will see:

This is particularly important for me cause I expressed interest in a couple of topics and want to keep up with them:

This is why I clicked the bell on the topic

At the moment suppressing “new” from the menu here:

Means that it is very hard for me to keep track of new stuff.

Additionally given the setting:

Any chance @Colin we can add New back here:

It will make two features Discourse has (tracking a topic, and treating topics as new) make sense.

interesting, I did not know there was this “new” view, I do not see it anywhere, only via the url you provided
I personally use the “latest” view exclusively

You have to reload the page, it is suppressed here via a setting.

Hey Sam!

Thanks for asking! I’ve added back the defaults. It has never been clear to me what “New” is for, and your post helped me understand.

I hear you Colin loud and clear, Discourse is such a huge platform with so many knobs, it is sometimes super easy to get lost.

One great little helper here for both you and any advanced community members here is https://ask.discourse.com/ it does a surprisingly awesome job at explaining so many of the edge cases.

We are working hard on simplifying the platform overall while staying flexible, it is a balancing act.
