Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
I often take large and complex tasks, and break them down into smaller pieces. Sometimes, the tasks are somewhat repetitive, with minor differences in detail for each piece. In those cases I often scroll up to the previous prompt, copy the parts that are the same, and paste them into my new prompt.
This is a very challenging task, though, as unlike most windowing systems, Cursor does not seem to handle drag-select and scroll well. In all input areas, including the editor, terminal, etc. dragging to select will often be stopped when you need to drag beyond the viewport. Often the editor or terminal will scroll, sometimes they will scroll wrong (i.e. POP to TOP, as in another bug report of mine), sometimes they just wonβt scroll at all. With the prompt editor, however, it will NEVER scroll while dragging to select, which means to copy more prompt content than fits in the prompt input viewport, you have to copy one piece, paste, then go back try to fit the next piece of the prompt you want to copy in and select it, etc. etc.
Steps to Reproduce
Write a prompt larger than the prompt input viewport, by at least a factor of two (three or more will better demonstrate the frustration.)
Try to copy a large portion of that prompt, including parts that scroll outside of the prompt input viewport, in one go.
Weep.
Expected Behavior
Should be able to drag-select beyond the viewport of the prompt input.
