Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, unfortunately, this suggests that your chat history may have been corrupted or deleted in the process of an update.

While we never intend to delete your chat history, certain factors like low system storage can cause this issue - the team are aware and are working hard to improve stability here.

My main recommendation here would be to not use chat threads as a way of storing codebase knowledge that you’d like to reuse.
LLMs can only see so much context in one go, and often degrade in performance if given too much input, so it’s best to keep your chat threads short and on topic.

While not an official recommendation, some users have reported success with the SpecStory extension, which attempts to read the chat history directly out of Cursor’s internal storage.
