Cannot open a project at all, freezes after ~2 seconds

Describe the Bug

Cursor freezes after 2 seconds and cannot recover, only for 1 project I have.
Cursor is responsive for approximately 2 seconds.
Cursor freezes, and the AI pane is spinning “conversation loading” in the background indefinitely. Cursor CPU usage at 100%.

Steps to Reproduce

Open cursor (with a project with extremely long conversation length?)

Expected Behavior

Cursor opens without freezing

Operating System

Linux

Additional Information

Note this also happened before I updated in version 1.1.2
Thankfully 2 seconds is enough to quickly open a new project. If it wasn’t I would be completely unable to use cursor. I am unable to use it for this project unfortunately.
I imagine this is because I have an extremely long AI conversation, but I don’t remember, I last opened this project in cursor a long time ago

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

You can use different sessions for different modifications or create new sessions by clicking the plus button. This is because the cursor is stuck due to too many contexts.

what do you mean “too many contexts”?
I can’t do this within the first 2 seconds apparently… but I was able to stop it by clicking the X in chat tab within the AI pane (not sure how to describe it, its the lighter area that says “new chat” if you open a new chat. Like how a browser tab has its own X)

So yeah as suspected it was the AI conversation that was the problem. Seems like there should be another way to prevent this problem rather than be forced to operate in a 2 second window. Its fortunate it rendered part of the pane to allow me to close it, basically.

Hey, thanks for the report. Does this also happen in other projects or newly created ones?
