Can't update cursor on Windows: RegSetValueEx failed: code 5

When cursor tries to automatically update I get the following error:


Just in case the image didn’t come up:
Error writing to registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Cursor.as…\command
RegSetValueEx failed; code 5.
Access is denied.

The current version I have that is working (before the update) is:
Version: 0.45.14
VSCode Version: 1.96.2

Try uninstalling the old version first, then install the new one.

I have the same issue, tried uninstalling old one and install the latest version.

I disable all my Norton protection behavior, it works fine to me.
