After a recent update:
(1) editing an earlier user message no longer lets me attach a skill to that message.
(2) In long chats, older messages no longer show URLs as blue link previews or skills in orange like before.
Steps to Reproduce
Open a chat with old messages → edit a past user message → no skill attach.
Scroll to older messages with URLs/skills → plain text, no blue/orange styling.
Expected Behavior
Edit + skill on any message;
link/skill styling on all messages in the thread.
Hey @Talha_Yousaf, thanks for the report and the screenshots! Neither of these is caused by anything in your setup, and we’ve let the team know about both.
Adding skills when editing an earlier message:
The / menu in the edit box for earlier messages currently doesn’t list your skills, even though the main input at the bottom does. Two workarounds for now:
Send the skill in a new message from the main input at the bottom of the chat instead of editing the earlier one.
Open the Agents Window (the Open Agents Window button in the title bar, or search “Agents Window” in the Command Palette), select this chat, and edit the message there. The / menu in that edit box lists your skills.
Skills and links showing as plain text:
Messages sent from the chat panel that contain a skill or a link are currently displayed as plain text instead of with the orange skill and blue link styling. This only affects how the message is displayed. The skill and link were included when the message was sent. If you edit one of those messages, re-add the skill from the / menu (in the Agents Window, as above) before resending.
@kevinn any ETA or fix shipped for the missing / skills on in-panel message edit and the plain-text skill/link display? Workarounds are fine for now; just wondering if this is still on the roadmap. Thanks!
