Perhaps I misunderstand, but I pin code files that will be consistently referenced throughout a chat. It seems that, after just a few back-and-forths, that the AI:
starts making suggestions inconsistent with the pinned code
will ask me for a file(s) that I have had pinned the whole time
I’m very happy to be told I’m missing something, but the feature of pinning files seems to be counterproductive and broken in its current form.
Hey, how long is your conversation with the model? You might have reached a context window overflow. If your files have a large number of lines, it’s better to use models with a long context window.
Thanks for the reply. I considered that but, if this is the case, it begs why files should be pinned if they’re not re-supplied on every request? This means it’s a rather useless feature and, I think, misleading.
