Checkpoint storage question

Hi, can someone please clarify how the checkpoints are saved?

In some source that is probably old, it said that the checkpoints are deleted once you restart the IDE.

But for me the checkpoints remain persistently even after restarting the IDE.

So can someone please actually clarify how it works? Where is it stored and does it get deleted at some point even if I don’t delete that composer session from my history?

Checkpoints are stored internally within the Cursor application and if you delete the chat/composer history, the checkpoints are deleted alongside it.

To clarify, they are not deleted when you restart the IDE.
