I’m starting a Golang + Vue project and planning to get a $200/month subscription, but I’m not sure whether to go with Claude or Cursor.
I want full control over the codebase and technical direction.

i am wondering the same, this month I use cursor ultra and likely will try claude max next month
i do not vibe code a whole lot and i can easily use up 5-10% of my subscription each day. If you vibe code or use parallel agents, you will easily go beyond that.
I am wondering if claude max subscription provides more usage
other than the usage, it is simple question of personal preference
I previously used Claude MAX 5X for three consecutive months.
The first couple of months were great — the quota was high, I could use it freely, and it was impressively smart.
But everything changed in the last month.
Claude suddenly became sluggish and often stopped halfway through tasks on its own.
It kept generating endless markdown files, and it burned through the weekly quota much faster than before.
That eventually led me to cancel my subscription, and I’m not sure how things are now.
good to know, have you tried setting a rule against the md files? it works for me in cursor
I had set the rules clearly in CLAUDE.MD, but it didn’t seem to follow them very well. In contrast, when I used Codex, it followed my rules almost every single time.
However, the issue with Codex is that it occasionally slips into a persistent “low-intelligence” state. It stops analyzing the codebase entirely and just returns answers outright, with no connection to the actual context.
