Yes, I know it’s one way to close the pane, but to me it’s an anti-human design.
Opening and closing left(primary) & right(AI) pane are very heavily used operation when I want to focus on different block. Now I need to pay additional thought when closing just because the design is different from all other Windows UI. Yes, it works but absolutely not the way I expect.
And for left panel I have one thing to complain too, why bother add this message if you already know that when user click on opened tab, the intent is to close the pane?
I would highly suggest that let user decide whether to hide the button by config, instead of forcing user to accept.
The experience in Cursor is getting worse upon every version update, I hope you won’t forget this is an IDE when you are rolling out those fancy features.
