I just updated to version 2.4.7, and it looks like the “Cursor” icon that used to appear in the top-right corner is missing. I used it to open and close the chat panel.
I know there’s a shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+B), but that key combination isn’t very convenient.
Is there a way to bring the icon back, or another UI option to toggle the chat panel?
Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the report. This isn’t a bug. The Cursor icon was intentionally removed in v2.3 in the Agent layout in favor of customizable layouts.
Here are the current ways to hide or show the chat panel:
Quick options:
Shortcut CTRL+ALT+B toggles the chat panel
Switch to the Editor layout (press CTRL+E). The Cursor icon is still there, so you can close the panel with one click
Alternative:
Click the gear icon (top right) and pick the layout you want
Or set up a custom layout that fits your workflow
I get that a shortcut isn’t a replacement for the button you’re used to. If you want to leave feedback about this change, the team is collecting UI comments here: [Megathread] Cursor layout and UI feedback
I’m using Editor mode. The icon is still missing, but I tried Ctrl+E as you suggested, and it replaced the Toggle Agents Side Bar button with Toggle AI Pane(typo in the tooltip?: Panel → Pane), which toggles the chat panel.
Also, I noticed that the Settings button behaves differently depending on how Editor mode is enabled. In the new version, the Settings button opens the Layout panel, and Cursor Settings is at the bottom of that panel. However, when I enable Editor mode using the keyboard shortcut, it opens the settings page immediately, and the Layout panel is shown under the three-dots menu.
