Please bring back the Cursor icon in the top right

Please bring back the Cursor icon in the top right that allows me to close the chat panel with one click. :folded_hands: I always mis-click the “Toggle Agents Side Bar” icon thinking it will also close the chat. Sometimes I just need to close up my panels on the right rq to get a better view of the code or plan md. Love using Cursor otherwise.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. In the Agent layout, the Cursor icon was removed in version 2.3.

Try switching to the Editor layout, the Cursor icon is still there. Quick way: press CMD+E to switch to Editor mode. In this mode, the icon will be there and you can close the panel with one click.

Alternative: use the CMD+ALT+B shortcut to toggle the panel in any mode.

If you have more UI feedback, you can leave it in the layout and UI megathread. The team is actively reading it.

In the Agent layout, if you click on double reverse arrows icon it will simply switch the side of agent panel. But if you hover over it, it will show Cmd+E as the shortcut for it. But that button simply switches to the Editor layout.

Also, if you click the settings button on top right and click the “Editor” layout, it will not actually switch to that layout. It is very broken.

I am on version 2.3.35

I understand this shortcut exists, but having to press three keys to execute it is extremely unintuitive considering how often I need to use it (the three keys aren’t conveniently located to each other either, making it hard to develop muscle memory). I feel that a specific icon that does this in a single click is still necessary regardless of agent/editor mode.

I commented about this issue in the megathread, but decided to make a separate post since it hasn’t been addressed in any of the recent updates.

I was just about to come here to say this. Clicking the “Editor” layout doesn’t switch to it (must be a bug since it’s broken and not working); the only way to get back to the Editor layout is the keyboard shortcut CMD+E. There isn’t even an option to change back to that layout view from the Mac Menubar. Thank God I finally figured out how to get back to that mode!!! I’ll spare my thoughts on the Agent Mode for now.
