Cloud agent fails on start: "team environment snapshot is invalid" despite successful setup

Describe the Bug

When making a new environment and starting a new cloud agent, it fails immediately with “We couldn’t start the agent’s computer, please help us set it up again. Your team environment snapshot is invalid. Open Setup and save a fresh team snapshot.”

old snapshots can pass setting up environment as long as i save to team without adding to conversation

Hey, thanks for the report. This is a known issue on our side. Environment snapshots can sometimes end up in an invalid state during creation.

Try this workaround:

  1. Go to your Cloud Agent environment settings
  2. Select “Reset to Default Ubuntu”
  3. Go through the environment setup again and save a new snapshot

If it happens again after that, let me know.

The team is aware and is working on making this more stable. For now, a reset and recreating the snapshot is the most reliable fix.

Hi Dean, I only see Start from existing environment → None. Is that what you are referring to? In that case I went through that process already.
