CMD + N No Longer Creates a New Editor Panel

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

CMD + N now starts a new agent chat instead of creating a new editor window. I never changed any settings or consented to any updates and all of a sudden this started happening.

Simlarly, I never changed any settings or consented to any updates and all of a sudden I have agents on the left?

Similarly, every time I change my settings to have chat on the right and sidebar on the left the settings are discarded every time that I close cursor. I never changed any settings or consented to any updates to have this happen.

Similarly, every time I open up a different remote machine, my chat is on the left and sidebar is on the right.

Steps to Reproduce

CMD N

Expected Behavior

new editor

Operating System

MacOS

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Liamazing

We can’t handle 4 bug reports in one thread – but I’m happy to address the first one!

In Agent mode, if you’re focused on an editor window, it should open up a new editor. If you’re focused anywhere else, it will open up a new chat.

In Editor mode, however, CMD + N always opens up a new editor window.

Does that match what you’re experiencing?
