Code in composer fails to apply

I’m encountering an error when using composer mode in version 0.41.1 The error message states “Connection failed” and provides a “Try again” option which fails to work. It also suggests checking my internet connection or VPN if the issue persists, and provides an email (hi@cursor.sh) to contact for support. Im not on VPN and my Internet connection is fine

The error screen includes a request ID

Seems to only occur when using Claude, works for a while then start throwing this error

Temp fix seems to be creating a new composer though this is not always the case

Has anyone else experienced this issue recently? Any suggestions on how to resolve it?

same issue here. composer mode is quite unusable for me, just like the previous version

Same for me. And when I then retry, it applies immediately. That’s so fucking broken

For anyone having trouble with Composer, you know these are local issues and different for everyone, right? I haven’t run into this, so try these steps:

  1. Check your logs by following this guide: Cursor - Build Software Faster

  2. Try launching in cursor --disable-extensions mode.

  3. If everything looks fine and you’re still having the same problem, try opening another project or starting a new Composer.

  4. Try reinstalling Cursor, 99% of the time, this works. Again, remove it by following this guide: Cursor - Build Software Faster
