Completely unable to use the product: connection failed, handshake failed

I’ve just downloaded curser and was very excited to use the product. I started a new project that consist of a git initialisation and and an empty text file. The first problem comes immediately. I hit ctrl+k and asked it a question and it shows me connection failed:

This happens with every ai choice, sometimes it takes a few seconds after pressing enter but more often the error shows immediately.

I then went into the settings and saw “Handshake failed” under Codebase indexing, which occurs every time I Retry Index. Would love some help on getting started.

OS: Windows 10
