Composer 2.5 availability on Pro

So my annual subscription (with unlimited auto) renews on September 11 and I’m a bit worried about losing access to Composer 2.5 after that.

Right now with unlimited auto I almost always get Composer 2.5 fast, and honestly it’s become my go-to - fast, capable, just works. I’d really like to keep using it after my plan changes.

Is Composer 2.5 currently subsidized / included in the standard Pro plan? Or will I need unlimited auto to consistently get it?

Basically wondering if I should plan around losingaccess to it or if it’ll still be available on regular Pro quota.

Thanks

To be more specific: is access to 2.5 on regular Pro considered generous right now, and are there any plans to limit it going forward? I just want a lot of Composer 2.5, basically as much as I can get

hey @FelixV, it’s normal to worry! I was also one of the blessed people to get unlimited auto haha, that said, since I lost my access some time ago and switch to a newer plan, I’ve been really stunned by the general usecase it gave you, only yesterday someone on the 60$ plan had used only composer 2.5 and used up all it’s auto+composer pool, he got just shy of 2 BILLION token, and that represented 400$ of usage (out of his 60$), and he didn’t even touched the API pool, so.. I must say, impressing! well, that said, usage differ a lot from user to user, so if I were you I will try to get at least some other feedback from people arround you (if applicable)

the screenshot are from the person I was talking about :

thanks, that’s actually really reassuring and those numbers are wild - 2B tokens for $60 is genuinely impressive

can’t wait for Composer 3, whether it’s built on Kimi 2.6 or something else entirely. honestly think Cursor keeps nailing it with these models. Composer 2.5 feels frontier-level to me regardless of the hate it gets, the speed alone makes it worth it

Hey, thanks for the question (and for the kind words about Composer 2.5).

First, about your situation. Unlimited Auto is working for you right now because your annual plan was started before the price change on September 15, 2025. Plans like that keep unlimited Auto until renewal, in your case until September 11. After renewal, your plan will switch to the standard Pro.

Now the main part. Composer 2.5 isn’t tied to unlimited Auto. It’s part of the standard model set on Pro, so you won’t lose access to it.

Here’s what will change:

  • Right now (unlimited Auto): requests often get routed to Composer 2.5 via Auto, and it doesn’t count against usage since Auto is unlimited.
  • After renewal (standard Pro): Composer 2.5 is still available, but Auto will be billed like normal tokens and counted against your included usage. So it won’t disappear, it’ll just be metered.

About the numbers mentioned above (2B tokens for $60). Usage depends a lot on how you work, so it’s best to look at your own usage pattern instead of someone else’s.

There are no announcements about removing Composer 2.5 from Pro. Any pricing changes are always announced in advance in the changelog, so you don’t need to plan for losing access to the model itself. The only change is how Auto is billed after renewal.

Let me know if anything’s still unclear.
