Opened up cursor, previously when I had it last opened I was on a chat with alot of history. Closed the application, load it back up, now It automatically opens up a new chat, cool, I go to load back my previous composer, doesnt even load. It says loading chat, then just goes back to the new chat. Any fixes/suggestions as for what to do here?
Update: I closed cursor, went back to sleep, it happened again. Someone please fix this, this is making things so hard and difficult, I cant work like this
I already have specstory, and no this is not the issue. This happens for any new project i work on, no matter how small the composer history is. When i close cursor and reopen it, it opens a new chat/composer automatically, and in history my old chats are listed, but when i click on them, it stays stuck on loading then goes back to the new composer
Unfortunately, there is no way to recover your chat history if it has been corrupted or deleted. Sometimes the OS can delete it if your system is low on free storage!
I’m hoping we can get some stability improvements pushed out soon to avoid the chat history becoming corrupted / deleted, sorry for any inconvenience!
This just started happening to me just yesterday after updating to (Windows) V0.49.2. Updated cursor after a heavy day of building and updating my apps. thankfully i just finished and was doing documentation, committed to Git, the updated Cursor, it restarted the app as usual and never loaded the chat i was working on… I restarted the app, tried clearing cache, restarted the computer and the app obviously and still my previous two chats will not load…
What happens:
App boots up in a new chat
Click on Show Chat History
select one of the two last chats i had and it will say “Loading Chat…” After about 15-30 seconds it will start a new chat with no error codes or any other things.
I can go to other chats I previously had worked in… But this is def a bug of some kind… Space on my computer was getting tight (20gb left in C:, i increased that, but i dont think that was a problem…).
Feel free to connect with me to try to debug or get more info you want.
Hi, we just pushed an update (0.49.3) that should help with this. Please let me know if it’s working for you! If not, please open your console (in the command palette, Developer: Toggle Developer Tools) and send us screenshots of any errors you see!
