Composer cannot automatically create files

When I use Composer, I cannot create a text file automatically and need to create it manually. Is this function cancelled? Or do I need to set it up to work properly?

It should be able to create the files for you depending on the model. Which model have you tried?

any models you suggest work best for Composer:

model for editing, model for new file creation

Creating files is buggy. The smarter the model, the more likely it will happen, but it can depend on the model, the prompt, the temperature (probably). sometimes you just have to try again. I am hoping the next generation models will be more reliable in this regard.

I recommend using Claude 3.5 Sonnet. It is the best for code generation and reasoning. Tell the model to update and create all necessary files at the end of your prompt. That often works for me. Unfortunately, no guarantees with generative ai :frowning:

yeah it gets more lazy with each update

Then it says (straight up lies in your face) that it did create or modify the files

even though it didnt

and when it does, after clicking apply it just overrides a bunch of stuff :frowning:
