Configure if review mode should jump to real file

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

The AI returns a list of modified files. In past versions clicking in one file jumped to that file. Now it opens a review mode. I like previous behavior. I can’t have all the code in my mind and I like to go around the file to check things. Could be possible to configure what should do click in a file in the list of modified files? Thank you.

I’ll second this, the new behavior is ANNOYING, and doesn’t fit with my workflow at all. Maybe it’s OK for vibe-coding but it’s bad for bigger projects where you need more context about where/how the new / modified code lies in a particular file.

One sorta-workaround - if you click on it to go to the Review mode THEN click on the header of the file in question, it goes to the right place. Still massively inconsistent with clicking the actual edits in the chat view, so it’s not really capable to get it in muscle-memory (and no, PLEASE don’t change those as well!)

I third this!

The new “preview” mode is slowing me down!

the review mode is my biggest productivity killer. I don’t want this at all. Just show me the file with the diff like it was like 2 weeks ago! this review mode is hiding everything, especially on laptop screens. I hate it. Let me just disable that.

really annoying I agree.
The only solution I found for now is downgrading the version.
make sure that auto updates are disabled when doing that, you need to change in the JSON settings:
“update.mode”: “manual”

Me too.
This review mode has seriously reduced efficiency, but there is no way to change it.

This is annoying because the review mode opens diff side-by-side while the default file view is unified. I prefer unified

They added ctrl + click to go directly to file but I 100% agree this should be an option. I NEVER want the “new” review thing

PLEASE… can the DEFAULT behavior of clicking on a file name, anywhere in the system, be opening that file the traditional way we are all used to? Please please please?

THEN, let CMD-Click open the “review” mode if you must have it… and of course there is already a specific “Review” button for the purpose…

Please consider well-established CONVENTIONS before changing behavior in the app.
