Cur***-free-vip Top 1 Trending on Github today

I think this will greatly affect paying users and newbies who want to try it out. Why does GitHub allow this repo to exist? Is there a way to report it for removal?

I would not bother taking them down, its actually useful to Cursor as it can get ahead of bad actors with less work as they do free pentesting, have you seen discussions? its a shitshow, they need to get google acct and it needs a phone number, maybe github acct is easier but still, then they get limited as Cursor detects something suspicious and they need to make new mail, reset/etc all that to skip paying 20$ a month

Cursor’s dev team is still a bit “weak.” Seeing workarounds that Cursor can’t handle. Some folks are selling 5000 premium requests for $20 on the black market!

Hey, actually, if you visit the issue page, you’ll see that this method almost doesn’t work anymore because we’ve started complicating the workarounds. If they create a new workaround, we’ll close it too. @normalnormie is partly right here, we’re monitoring this.

Is it just more convenient to take down those repos with DMCA?

As mentioned above, Cursor seems interested in this repo. Guess it doesn’t really affect Cursor that much.

i heard these and i dont use them.
but the temptation is not skiping 20usd/mo.

problem is living with 500 fast request /mo is sad.

if i can have unlimited fast request JUST LIKE copilot,
i wont care about others.

@krstoevan Copilot is unlimited for its base model(gpt-4o) which is pretty bad at coding, Cursor has deepseek-v3 and gpt-4.1 which are better for free, Copilot Pro gives 240 reqs for 2.7-thinking, with Pro+ you’ll get some more reqs than Cursor but an overall inferior experience, also if you’re having trouble living with 500 req/mo believe me its a skill issue, after gaining experience you’ll struggle to reach 500 reqs, and Cursor goes fast until around 800 reqs so currently there’s no competition for Cursor, either for pricing or quality
