IT TAKES 30+ SECONDS TO SEND THE QUESTION and this triggers VSCode to show a not responding window!!!
how is this improving the development???
how are you testing your code???
We’ve noticed that users who always add messages to the same thread have had more performance issues compared to users who occasionally create new chat/composer threads. Can you share how often you create new threads?
Happy to also hop on a call and try to debug with anyone who has been getting the crash issues repeatedly, we’re not able to reproduce the crashes locally and are trying to hunt them down and fix them. Please DM me if you’re open to hopping on a quick google meet to debug.
thanks for offering that. I had emailed the support and sent them a loom video. It’s definitely an issue with the latest version as the prompt gets sent with a delay usually around 30 seconds. That’s just the prompt!
I wasted several hours and installed the previous version and that seems to fix the issue
Could you please tell me how did you installed the previous version? I am also experiencing the slowness and definitely because of the version 46.7. It is unbearably slow. I wanna go back to previous one. I would appreciate your help.
I went to the downloads page and downloaded the 0.45.x version. In my case the problems were on Mac so I used the universal version. The prompts are sent normally.
On Mac I replaced the version that I had previously installed.
I guess the team was rushing the agent feature … but still every single one in the company should test the sh** out of this otherwise we’d lose the productivity we gain from the tool
Just sent you a DM, let me know if you can’t see it.
For others seeing these issues, clearing the local state might fix it.
In Windows, this is:
“C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Cursor\User”
And on Mac, this is:
“/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Cursor/User”
I’d recommending renamint the User folder to UserBackup or storing it somewhere in case you want access to the old data there. Renaming or deleting this folder will remove local editor history like extensions, chat history, etc…, but often resolved any performance issues.
We’re actively looking into what state grows especially large for some users to patch the issues.
You’re an angel from heaven. I deleted the contents in the History and workspaceStorage folders and didn’t lose my docs or rules. Immediately cleared the crashing and slowness. Also is the solution for this other issue. I’m gonna link to this for that issue.
