Cursor Agent (Web) model dropdown only shows a limited set of LLMs

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Background Agent (GitHub, Slack, Web, Linear)

Describe the Bug

I’m using Cursor Agent (web version) and I want to select a different LLM (e.g., Composer, Sonnet, etc.), but the model dropdown only shows the models in the screenshot. How can I make it display all available models?

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Go to cursor.com.
  2. Select the repo and branch.
  3. Click the model selector (dropdown) to view available LLM models.
  4. Observe that only the models shown in the attached screenshot appear, and other models (e.g., Sonnet, Composer) are not listed.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @HarounAlnemer

This is on purpose. For Cloud Agents, we’ve been pretty picky so far about curating the models available. Some models perform better in the environment that Cloud agents run.

Do you have one (or some) in mind you’d like to use?

Sometimes we don’t need a very powerful model. Could we add my favorite Auto as well? That way it would just be a matter of adding one more option.

Thanks for the clarification! If possible, I’d really like to be able to choose Sonnet and Composer from the model selector — those are the models I plan to use most often.

Yeah, often you want to shoot a simple task to the cloud. and not do that locally. That use case is broken because these models take very long also for simple task.

Composer1 would be great
