Cursor AI on blacklist at my Bank

Hey guys,

I wanted to subscriber to Cursor, but my payments kept getting declined. I finally called the Bank and they told me that company is on banking blacklist. I am based in Slovenia (EU). I asked if this can somehow change, to remove it from blacklist, as I explained to them what I am purchasing - but they told me that due to several fraud detections, they cannot do it now… and what happens in future, they can’t tell.

This means, there are no options for me to use the Pro version?

Thanks.

Obviously, use another payment option

I have only ApplePay and direct Bank card usage. But both are getting declined, since at the end, it is my card that needs to be charged and even though if it is behind Apple Pay, it does not work.

I do not have an option for PayPal. Then what is left is some ‘Link’ payment methond, which requires providing card information to another third-party, which I won’t do. I have already PayPal and Apple Pay, this should work normally like everywhere else.

Just hope Cursor Team might have someone in the ranks to check whats going on, why some banks detect their payment mechanism as fraud.

Hi, could you message me directly with which bank you are having this issue with?

Can’t promise we can get it resolved as it is up to the bank to block or unblock Cursor payments, but if it’s a major bank, I’d have expected more reports about this.

Hi Dan. I’m having a similar issue. Standard Bank in South Africa. Tried business and personal cards without luck. The bank says they cannot see any record of the transaction attempts. What’s odd is I did manage to pay a once off, for October I think, then after that tried switching to a subscription, at which point card payments were declined.

Hey,

Can you send me a message with the email address you attempted to use during billing? I will check for the transactions and see what’s going on.

Hi Dan,
Same here…I am in Italy and my bank is rejecting the pro subscription payment.
Do you think this issue can be solved?
Thanks!

Same issue for me and some friends in Armenia.

I manage to pay only after multiple calls to my bank and a bit yelling at them lol.

They told me that this restriction comes from national payment systems, not buy banks themself so looks like Curor company have some issues on very high level.

Adding some alternative would be nice (G pay and other Stripe options not work as well)

I hope it’s not because they ignore all the refund request and people end up doing chargeback. If so they can get in trouble soon.

PayPal could be an other good option for many people.
