Cursor - Crucial IDE Login Issue

On “May 8, 2025, 11:28 AM (GMT +08 | ASIA/MANILA)” I have contacted Staff Email Support which is “[email protected]” creating a email support that it seems I can’t login to my Cursor IDE Even though is it Fresh Reinstall (did uninstall it and reinstall again), Then “Sam at Cursor” staff replied at “May 8, 2025, 12:00 PM” telling me to;

Hi M*** J****n - thanks for reaching out!

I can see that while your student verification was successful, the payment for your student subscription wasn't completed - your card was declined when trying to process the payment. This is likely why you're stuck in the login state.

Could you try these steps:

1. Go to https://cursor.com/settings

2. Click "Manage Subscription"

3. Try updating your payment method and completing the subscription

Once the payment is successful, please restart Cursor and try logging in again.

Let me know if you need help with these steps!

Now our conversation has been engage due to that some billing issue problem until at at “May 10, 2025, 12:53 AM” I have emailed him back, that the billing has already been process and my Account is now on Pro Plan, now he response so fast at “May 10, 2025, 1:24 AM” which congratulate me etc etc…

Now I tried logging in back again but yet the problem still occurs just like on this latest video; “Replied To Him at = May 10, 2025, 4:04 AM [P.S Video is Latest not that Time]”

Now he replied at “May 10, 2025, 4:35 AM” telling me to;

Hi M*** J****n,

I've checked your account and can see your student subscription is active. I've attempted to sync your subscription status - could you try these steps:

1. Completely quit Cursor (not just close the window)

2. Disable any firewall/antivirus temporarily as they can block the login process

3. Restart Cursor and try logging in again with your Google account

Could you also let me know which version of Cursor you're using? You can check this by going to Help > About in Cursor.

Let me know if you still have trouble after trying these steps!

Best,

Sam

I did everything what he told me, then I even provided my info;

Version: 0.49.6 (user setup)
VSCode Version: 1.96.2
Commit: 0781e811de386a0c5bcb07ceb259df8ff8246a50
Date: 2025-04-25T04:49:20.797Z
Electron: 34.3.4
Chromium: 132.0.6834.210
Node.js: 20.18.3
V8: 13.2.152.41-electron.0
OS: Windows_NT x64 10.0.19045

But the problem still occurs, now he responded again;

Hi M*** J****n,

Let's try these additional steps to get you logged in:

1. Clear your browser cache and cookies completely

2. Open Cursor settings (gear icon in top right)

3. Click "Sign Out"

4. Close Cursor completely

5. Clear your browser cache again

6. Reopen Cursor

7. Click "Sign In" and use your Google account

Make sure to keep your antivirus/firewall disabled while trying these steps, as they can sometimes block the authentication process.

If these steps don't work, I'll need to connect you with a teammate who can help investigate this further since your subscription is active but the login sync isn't working properly.

Let me know how it goes!

Best,

Sam

At “May 10, 2025, 10:16 AM” and its already “May 12, 2025, 5:25 AM” here already in the Phillipines that was 2 Days ago already and I have been still waiting and I got no response anymore from the staff..

Does anyone here experience the issue and have found a solution to resolve this? Aside I know some of the staff replies on some posts here, hope you will help me up my email support nor help me here directly on comment section.

Hey, it looks like this may be a query related to your account billing - if so, the forum is not the best place for this query.

Please drop an email to [email protected] if you have any billing issues.

If you have already sent an email, please be patient - one of the team will get back to you soon!

Hey, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser, or open the browser in incognito mode. Google Chrome and Arc are well-recommended.

Hey deanrie, as I mentioned, I already tried that; even entirely created a new profile data from “Brave” and to “Chrome” then even try both Incognito, it doesn’t work either (also take note: I even completely uninstall and install the Cursor software from the original download link) all of that doesn’t work.

Are you using a VPN or proxy? One user previously reported that this was an issue, and even though he hadn’t used a VPN for a long time, he checked the network settings to see if everything was okay and found proxy settings. After removing them, he was able to log in successfully.

Sorry for late response, anyways I did not use any proxy nor vpn, but I did use once when all of the process did not work, and also I forgot to mention that I do have 2 networks does it also matter? aside how I can check my proxy is it for my Web proxy or firewall?

I have check and it was empty, my vpn are also off, aside does Malwarebytes affect?

UPDATE

Dear @deanrie, I tried to ask my classmate to download the Cursor software, and log my account there using Email One Time Code, he was successfully got log my account in, especially on the IDE, May I know what we should do to resolve this issue? probably this might be with your ban system? due that I have tried your Trial before after I register a new account using with my school email? Is there anything we could do here?

I am waiting, hope I could get an response ASAP due that my school projects are pending :sneezing_face:

When I will get a response?

I think the issue might be with your network. What if you try setting up a VPN? It might solve the problem.

Hey! I will try now I still have my friend vpn, anyways I will show you a video earlier I did on public computer it let me log in!

I want to clarify, did you completely reinstall Cursor following this guide?

Also, if you did, it’s possible that the authorization address is blocked. Check this address for availability: curl -v https://api2.cursor.sh/

Oh no sir, I have just Uninstall the Cursor and ReInstall it from your official site, aside here is the result of the curl;

deanrie hi there I will just re up this;

And btw, this is the issue I am having, I did what it told me to do but it is still the same, I still can’t login it still says “Login”

Hey! Good news Finally! Lol (issue was on May 8 [7 days problem]) I have found the solution! Thanks to you :wink:

First is I did try this one, Cursor – Troubleshooting Guide but the thing is it doesnt detect with my CMD…

Secondly, I just open my folder and check any kind of “.cursor” or “cursor” folder and manually deleting it, after all I did this one; Cursor – Troubleshooting Guide but found out it was automatically uninstall also..

Lastly, I did a fresh installation Cursor – Troubleshooting Guide and use the latest version and after that I click the login, try again using EMAIL me with a Code and boom it works!

Issue Resolved!

(If you click Sign In on the General tab of Cursor’s Settings tab but are redirected to cursor.com and then return to Cursor still seeing the Sign In button)

Hey, I’m glad you were able to solve the problem. That’s why I asked if you had completely reinstalled Cursor, and it seems like that helped.
