Cursor does not apply changes to the code

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

The code appears to have been modified, but in reality, it hasn’t changed. Although I can still get responses, I’m unable to use Cursor right now. I’ve already closed and reopened Cursor and even restarted my computer, but I’m still experiencing the same bug. I’m also attaching a screenshot of my Apply settings.

Steps to Reproduce

None of the changes I make are being applied.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, thanks for the report. This looks like a bug affecting applying changes, and the team is already working on it.

To investigate your case, please share:

  • Which mode are you using? (Agent, Ask, or Cmd+K inline edit)
  • What exactly happens when you try to apply?
  • Do you see Apply/Accept buttons?
  • Do changes appear in a diff but not save?
  • Or do files look modified in the editor but revert when you check?
  • Request ID: after trying to apply, copy the Request ID (chat context menu → Copy Request ID)
  • A short screen recording would be very helpful

Temporary workarounds:

  • Fully restart Cursor
  • Try a different mode (e.g., if Agent, try Ask)
  • Check if the file is read-only or has permission issues

Once you share the details, I’ll pass this to the team.

Hi, Let me explain:

  • I was using Agent mode when this happened.

  • When I try to apply, the change only occurs in the code shown by Cursor, but not in the actual code file.

  • Yes, I know those buttons, but even when I click them, nothing changes.

  • Since my work last night was urgent, I downgraded to version 1.7. Therefore, I don’t have any screenshots.

Thanks for the temporary solutions, but none of them are working.
