Describe the request
I’ve been thinking about where I’d like to see Cursor go, particularly as the agent side of the product gets more capable and Elon can leverage his huge compute and move more into storage.
My workflow today is still spread across a lot of separate environments. Cursor for development, GitHub for repositories and coordination, separate infrastructure and hosting, other AI systems, design tools, billing, deployment, monitoring, and so on.
This creates a ton of friction…
What I want is a “company in a box”.
For example, I’d love to have:
- Grokbot agents that I can give proper visual identities to, including generated realistic avatars or my own images.
- Proper real-time voice conversations with those agents, rather than voice simply being another way of entering text.
- Zoom-style app where I can have ‘meetings’ with my team.
- Seamless comms for agents across all platforms (i.e Cursor to Grokbot and anything else that gets developed from hereon) Right now I’m using GitHub issues, which works, but it’s clunky.
- Repositories/source control sitting naturally inside the same environment - expansion of Origin to a GitHub clone.
- The ability to create something, deploy it, host it and manage it without constantly jumping between services.
- Design and content capabilities sitting alongside development - web and mobile app design tools.
- Eventually, things like payments, analytics, infrastructure and monitoring becoming part of the same overall operating environment, whether natively or through very tight integrations.
The interesting bit for me isn’t any individual feature. It’s the convergence of all of them.
I’m already running increasingly complex projects with a very small human footprint because AI has removed barriers that would have stopped me even a year or two ago. Those barriers keep falling.
I think we’re ‘actually’ heading towards a point where someone with an idea can build and operate a genuinely substantial business without first having to assemble a traditional company around it. This is much talked about and promised by many commentators, but I think we are within a year of this being possible for semi-technical people with ideas and drive.
For existing companies, the same capability potentially gives very small teams access to what previously required developers, designers, infrastructure people, agencies and consultants.
