Cursor is crashing and unbearably slow

Hi team, Cursor has been very slow and frequently crashing for me in the last week. It just crashed three times when I opened Cursor to check the current version (0.51.2). I’m on an Apple M2 Macbook Air running Sequoia 15.5. My codebase hasn’t meaningfully changed. I’ve tried reinstalling Cursor but that didn’t help.

Is this affecting other users? What can I do to make Cursor stable again?

Thanks!

Adding that Activity Monitor shows Cursor using huge amount of CPU before it crashes

Does it still repro with 1.0.0 that was just released?

Yes, still present in v1.0.0 (which I’m excited to use when the crashing stops!).

Hey, try checking which processes are using your CPU. Open the command palette with cmd/ctrl + shift + p and type Process Explorer. Then send a screenshot.
