Describe the Bug

It gets stuck on generating when trying to write a prompt and generate.

Steps to Reproduce

Try to write a prompt and press generate.

Expected Behavior

Working

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: 1.1.4 (user setup)

Not sure if the same issue (older pricing, sonnet 4, not thinking), but every few responses I get an “empty” response, meaning it is not generating, yet I don’t see ANY response (no text, no code changed, nothing). These failures should not be counted as uses…

The same issue occurred on Linux. After upgrading Corsor to version 1.1.4, the agent stopped working, rendering it unusable. Consequently, I rolled back to version 1.1.3. :smiling_face_with_tear:

same here, restarted cursor and 1.1.4 applied automatically, now is’s stuck on “generating…” forever, on all models. Even though it worked perfectly before the restart. even a few minutes before the restart.

The status is not up to date. “All Systems Operational”, but the bug still persists. it’s tied to version 1.1.4 update probably, and not directly a database problem i suppose

I just stated getting this after updating to latest. 1.1.4 also. Stuck on generating.

Same issue on two separate windows machines.

Same here… generating and after a long long time - time-out

EDIT: Started a new chat and agent was responding again!

The wheels are falling off already, model just stop even generating, been stuck on generating for 20mins.

@danperks although the status says “All Systems Operational” But I am still not able to use the claude-sonnet-4 model it is stuck at generating.

Yea, that status page is not correct. It has been several hours now and all I get is “generating…”

If you’re still seeing the Generating issue, this won’t be tied to the downtime earlier, but a bug somewhere!

I’ve passed this to the team to look into shortly :folded_hands:

Mine is stuck on generating as well - began last night around 7 pm EST.

Same issue here after updating to Cursor 1.1.4. Hope the team fixes this quickly - it’s making Cursor unusable for existing projects. :pensive_face:

workround: old chat doesn’t work for me, but starting a new chat in the same project, or opening a new project - seems to work.
