Is anyone else experiencing lag or freezing in Cursor Editor?

I’m running into occasional slowdowns and brief hangs when using Cursor. Just wanted to check if it’s a general issue or something specific to my setup.

Here are my machine specs:
• Model: MacBook Pro (Mac15,6)
• Chip: Apple M3 Pro
• Cores: 12 (6 performance, 6 efficiency)
• Memory: 18 GB

Anyone else facing this? Any fixes or workarounds?

Steps to Reproduce

1.	Open Cursor and load an existing project (mine was a mono repo: TypeScript/Next.js/React Native app).
2.	Start editing a large file, running prompts in agent mode.
3.	After a few seconds of interacting, the editor becomes sluggish or briefly unresponsive.

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

This usually happens when your chat is massive in size, starting a new chat may fix this for you.

I am facing the same issue, and the customer support team does not seem to listen.

and using Next.js, Typscript 5 monorepos

Just trying Zed editor and works great

The customer support team are listening, you’re not the only person they’re chatting too, thousands of emails flooding in, have patience.

hey, download folder-size to check and delete some extensions and workplaces existed in your laptop. I checked and I had almost 20gb of extensions by some miracle and a bunch of chat histories + workplaces. After I deleted it, it seemed to work fine.
