Cursor mobile and Remote Control hard to use

The Cursor mobile App and remote control function is very hard to use!!

  1. Not all workspaces can be seen on the mobile APP. It seem that the workspaces on my local machine is just randomly displayed on the mobile APP.

  2. The Agents I use in the IDE Page do not show in the AGNETS Window Page.

  3. The Remote control switch does not work, it stuck when I try to restart the remote function.

  4. What I want is all workspaces and agents can be shown and controlled on my phone. The visibility of each workspace can be easily turned on or off. ( Once I switch it to on, I can talk with all the agents in this workspace on my phone.)

  5. I want to add files to the project and share the files to agents with my phone.

  6. Again, for those people who use cursor locally, cloud agent is not a necessary function. But remote control is. Please make the agents easier to be used. You can refer to the design of codex or Grokbot. Use an IM-style interface, categorize agents by workspace and make the workspace editable - just make it more like desktop APP!

It’s very weird to use the Cursor mobile APP especially when the workspace is at a local desktop. Hope cursor team can improve the experience. Just make it more likely to be a message app.

Hey @Catme1008, thanks for laying all this out. A few of these have answers today, and they’re connected.

The Remote Control switch. Let’s start here, because it likely explains the missing workspaces. Which switch are you flipping (Agents Window > Settings > Agents, or the one in the run menu), what happens when you do, and what version are you on? A workspace only appears on your phone if that computer has Remote Control on and has the workspace open, so if the switch isn’t holding, the list will look sparse and random.

Missing workspaces. Once Remote Control is on, update Cursor on your computer, then fully quit and reopen it (on a Mac that’s Cmd+Q, not just closing the window). Until recently only one open workspace per computer could register at a time, which made the rest fall back to Cloud when you picked them. That’s sorted in the current release. Keep the workspaces you want open, and keep the computer awake and online.

Editor agents not showing on your phone. A regular editor chat stays on your computer. To pick one up remotely: open the Agents Window, turn on Remote Control under Settings > Agents, run /remote-control, then send your next message. It’ll appear in your app inbox. Having every local chat show up automatically isn’t possible yet but we are aware of the ask

Files. You can attach photos, camera shots, and files straight from the composer, and the agent can work with them. The app isn’t a file browser for your project, though. For code, you’ll see changed files in the diff view.

Grouping by workspace. The Inbox already groups workspaces under each connected computer, and Add Workspace lets you pin or unpin them. A messaging-style layout isn’t there today.
