Today, we’re launching Cursor for iOS in public beta! Launch always-on agents from your phone, follow their progress with Live Activities, review demos and diffs, and merge PRs on the go. Your laptop can be asleep, out of reach, or busy with something else, and your work keeps moving.
What’s new:
Launch agents from anywhere: Open the app, choose a repo, and kick off a cloud agent the same way you would on desktop. Pick any model, start in Plan Mode, describe ideas with voice input, and use slash commands to steer.
Stay in the loop: Leave the app and Cursor keeps you posted with Live Activities on your lock screen and push notifications when an agent finishes, needs input, or is ready for review.
Review demos and diffs: Cloud agents produce demos, screenshots, and logs alongside code. Inspect artifacts, leave follow-up instructions, or merge the PR directly from your phone.
Handoff between local and cloud: Send a local plan to a cloud agent when you step away, then bring the session back to your computer to test before merging.
Remote Control: With Cursor 3.9, control agents running on your own machine straight from the app, whether they’re local or in the cloud.
Cursor for iOS is available now in public beta on all paid plans. You can also get 75% off all Composer 2.5 runs in the mobile app through July 5, 2026!

Right now, a lot of people who are staying on iOS 18 can’t install the app at all. Not everyone wants to upgrade their iOS version right away, especially if they’re using a older device or if they’d rather wait until a newer iOS release feels more stable before upgrading.
It would be really helpful if the app could support iOS 18 and newer, so more users can try it without being forced to upgrade iOS first. I personally wouldn’t mind if some of the newer glass-style UI elements were included on iOS 18 too, if that’s what makes supporting the older iOS version more practical.
I’d love to see support for older iOS devices, especially those running iOS 18. I’m still using an iPhone XR, and it works great for everything I need, so upgrading my phone just to use the latest version of the app isn’t something I’m looking to do right now.
If it’s possible, it’d be awesome if you could keep compatibility with iOS 18 or make the last compatible version available for download. I’m sure there are plenty of users in the same boat who would really appreciate it.

I’m an iOS dev. From what I understand that warning is about the SDK , not the minimum iOS version it can support. Xcode 26 still supports much older deployment targets.
Cursor could still build with the iOS 26 SDK while setting the deployment target lower to iOS 18, unless there’s a specific dependency that requires iOS 26.
I’d really appreciate the team looking into this. I’m probably not going to use the iOS app until it supports iOS 18, since I don’t want to update my older phone just for one app.

It appears all I can control are things in the cloud, but I can’t directly use local folders the way you can in Codex.
Great to see the first mobile app finally roll out. Big up on a potential Android app, and would definitely push for a proper iPadOS app too. Cloud Agents (Cloud or Remote Control) really enable the iPad (with a keyboard) to be a laptop-like device without the bulk in a way that Apple doesn’t allow it currently.
Would love to get on the Android beta if/when it’s ready
Have you checked what version of Cursor you’re using? Remote Control requires 3.9.8 (now documented).
If you’re using a supported version, please let us know where you’re getting stuck! Enabling the setting under Settings > Agents? Running the /remote-control command in an existing chat?
