Describe the Bug

We keep getting this error, no matter what:

Connection failed. If the problem persists, please check your internet connection or VPN
Premature close [unknown]
Request ID: f88c3571-1829-438d-ac62-1b1c8f40d90f

Tried everything (http2, vpn, restart program, update, pc reboot, new chat, new network…), nothing works.

Steps to Reproduce

Just open Cursor, clear all chats, start fresh. This pop-up appears after 2 lines of text where the model attempts to think.

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, which model are you using? Do you also have enabled MCP servers? Could you disable them and check if the issue persists?

Same message on all models. No MCP servers.

Does creating a new chat resolve the issue?

Nope.

Could you share the request ID? For this, you need to disable privacy mode if it’s enabled, then reproduce the issue when it happens again and copy the ID.
