this is happening to me randomly, just happened now i tried to open a folder with cursor, it didn’t open the app i waited for some time and tried doing it again, second time it deleted itself and i think some kind of refresh happened on my desktop screen and the cursor icon deleted.
sometimes it happens when i first turn on the machine without even interacting with it, it just deletes itself and i have to redownload everytime
im on windows 11 machine
Same here started happening since last week (jan 2025). Using Windows 11 10.0.26100
Have to reinstall Cursor and it works, but pretty annoying.

Yesterday I noticed that Cursor was trying to update after it was closed and has since been deleted.
We’ve made some progress today on figuring this out, sorry for the issues in the meantime!

Hey, our latest version should fix this for the most part, but I’d confirm you don’t have any overly aggressive antivirus programs that may be removing Cursor for you!
