Describe the Bug

The IDE crashed with an OOM error while performing agent actions. Re-opening the IDE on the same directory repeatedly results with the same OOM crash, even after closing all editors, clearing all chats, closing the chat window.

Steps to Reproduce

Unknown. I can’t get to the latest actions made by the agent since the IDE crashes right after starting.

Expected Behavior

The IDE should not crash again and again after starting a fresh instance.

Additional Information

The agent was doing pretty routine work - analyzing a slow query. During the sessions it also used an MCP server.

Hey, thanks for the report. This matches an ongoing investigation into OOM crashes in recent builds, especially when MCP servers run agent tasks.

Please try:

  • Launching in safe mode: cursor --disable-extensions
  • Temporarily disabling your MCP server in settings to see if the crashes stop
  • Letting us know which MCP server you’re using. There have been several reports of crashes with the Atlassian MCP
