Cursor speed degraded faced connection issue 5 times in 20 min

The cursor is not working. I’m faced a connection issue only in cursor.
Overall, the cursor is very slow for around past two hours. I have tried using Composer 1, I’ve also tried using Auto. Both were super slow. I lost my patience and aborted the request after waiting for around 3-5 minutes each time

I also tried using Gemini 2.5, but it broke within 20 seconds, giving the connection issue message.

I also tried Haku. It was looking a bit better, but then it also broke. Now I’ve tried again; it didn’t work at all and broke again.

Please note that I’m not using any bit older version where we had the issue of planning. This version was working fine, I have not updated. I also have another installation, which I was using when the Cursor was having the plan issue, that older version is also not working for me.

Hey, thanks for the report.

A similar ERROR_OPENAI issue is often caused by a few different things. Try these in order:

  1. MCP servers: Cursor Settings > Tools & MCP. Disable all servers if any are enabled. This caused the same error with Gemini for other users:
    Gemini 3 Flash/Pro Not Working

  2. Network Diagnostics: Cursor Settings > Network > Run Diagnostics. Run it and share the results.

  3. HTTP/2: Press Cmd/Ctrl+, then search for “HTTP/2” and enable “Disable HTTP/2”. This can help with network issues.

  4. VPN/Proxy: If you’re using a VPN, a corporate proxy, or Cloudflare WARP, try without them.

If the issue still happens after that, send the Network Diagnostics results and I’ll escalate it to the team. You can also temporarily use Claude 4.5 Sonnet. It’s usually more stable for this kind of workload.
