A similar ERROR_OPENAI issue is often caused by a few different things. Try these in order:

MCP servers: Cursor Settings > Tools & MCP. Disable all servers if any are enabled. This caused the same error with Gemini for other users:

Network Diagnostics: Cursor Settings > Network > Run Diagnostics. Run it and share the results.

HTTP/2: Press
Cmd/Ctrl+,then search for “HTTP/2” and enable “Disable HTTP/2”. This can help with network issues. -
VPN/Proxy: If you’re using a VPN, a corporate proxy, or Cloudflare WARP, try without them.
If the issue still happens after that, send the Network Diagnostics results and I’ll escalate it to the team. You can also temporarily use Claude 4.5 Sonnet. It’s usually more stable for this kind of workload.
