Cursor stops working in WSL on windows 10

Describe the Bug

When trying to connect to WSL nothing happens and i see this error in console

[error] command ‘remote-wsl.connect’ not found: Error: command ‘remote-wsl.connect’ not found
at b.n (vscode-file://vscode-app/c:/Users/igora/AppData/Local/Programs/cursor/resources/app/out/vs/workbench/workbench.desktop.main.js:2425:32874)
at b.executeCommand (vscode-file://vscode-app/c:/Users/igora/AppData/Local/Programs/cursor/resources/app/out/vs/workbench/workbench.desktop.main.js:2425:32803)

VScode at the same time works fine so defenitely not a WSL issue.

Tried everything i found here, on GH and SO, nothing helps.

Also, from WSL terminal i could start cursor but it still shows the same behavior and error.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey, try reinstalling the WSL extension.

Hi! No, thats not the solution but some nice dudes on GH points me to the right solution.

MS restrict the newest version of their WSL extention to work on VScode forks. So you just need to uninstall WSL ext, and simply drag and drop old version to extention window.

Old ext - here

(dont forget to uncheck auto-update flag on extention)
