Cursor stuck on loading chats

Describe the Bug

After opening one of my repos Cursor does not start anymore, the UI is frozen and it displays Loading Chats. I reinstalled the app, invalidated by session via cursor web but it is still stuck and I cannot use it at all anymore.

Steps to Reproduce

I do not know how to reproduce it, the repo I opened cannot be shared, but it worked before many times.

Expected Behavior

I should be able to open cursor and the UI should be reactive.

MacOS

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

I am experiencing the same issue since this morning on a project that I haven’t opened in a while. It is only happening for that specific project and not for the rest. It’s a fairly small and simple Vue application.

All access to Ask or Agent support have broken since the update, it’s permanently on ‘updating’. All settings and network diagnostics are good, I’ve tried multiple wifi access points, it’s not network latency. Cusrsor Version: 1.0.0, VSCode Version: 1.96.2./ Running on a MacBook Pro

How about backing up your chats and starting a new chat, this often fixes the issue for anyone having this issue.
