Cursor Tab NOT WORKING Please HELP!

Hi there, I am a pro trial user. My cursor tab suddenly was not working. It does not help with banning HTTP2 from other forums’ advice. I have copied the LOG INFO below. I saw others facing a similar issue. PLEASE HELP!

Hi @pheonix ,

Have you seen this post?

Does the information within that post assist at all?

Can you please copy/paste system info from Cursor > Help > About?

@litecode Hi there! I appreciate your help. My Cursor Tab is enabled for sure and I double-checked it. I have pasted info below.

Version: 0.42.0
VSCode Version: 1.93.1
Commit: 9e8f0f993884031e2f08d75f7adab80d1732a980
Date: 2024-10-09T23:06:04.586Z
Electron: 30.4.0
Chromium: 124.0.6367.243
Node.js: 20.15.1
V8: 12.4.254.20-electron.0
OS: Windows_NT x64 10.0.19045

Check the logs in the Output tab. Everything works for me on version 0.42.0

Thanks bro! I have already pasted the logs above. Do you understand any of them?

No, from your logs, I don’t see anything critical. You mentioned that you’re a professional trial user. Have your 14 days expired yet?

Additionally, just to clarify:

  • You are using a VPN?

  • You did follow the guidance here?

https://docs.cursor.com/troubleshooting/common-issues#cursor-tab-and-cmd-k-do-not-work-behind-my-corporate-proxy

Cursor Tab and Cmd K do not work behind my corporate proxy.

Cursor Tab and Cmd K use HTTP/2 by default, which allows us to use less resources with lower latency. Some corporate proxies (e.g. Zscaler in certain configurations) block HTTP/2. To fix this, you can set "cursor.general.disableHttp2": true in the settings (Cmd/Ctrl + , and then search for http2).

Not yet bro

Hi, to clarify:

Yes, I am using VPN but I can use chatGPT and our AI. I could use Cursor Tab before but not anymore.

And yes, I have already disabled the http2.

Can you please help with it?

What date did your Pro trial start?

I’m just trying to figure out what the issue might be. Try turning off your VPN and check if it works. Also, check if you’ve restricted it to certain files.

Additionally, open the dev tools console and see if there are any errors.

And just to make sure, you’re not using Zscaler, a firewall, or other network-limiting software, right?

Try booting in disable-extensions mode, maybe an extension is blocking it.

If everything looks fine, try reinstalling Cursor, in 99% of cases, that helps. The process is described here:

I will try your method. I have reinstalled Cursor twice.

I reinstalled Cursor and deleted all the records. Now I can use Cursor Tab with py files but not ipynb files. Wired though.

I’m not familiar with ipynb files, but a search on the forum shows there are some issues with it:

I haven’t come across any official statement on it yet.

@pheonix - you may want to remove the image you posted above as it has your email address in it.

Thanks man! Maybe you guys are still coming up with a stable solution. I can use Cursor Tab on ipynb before but not now. Maybe there is something wrong with it. But anyway, your help is really appreciated!

I just tried that. When I opened the ipynb file, the Cursor Tab in the status bar was crossed out and wouldn’t activate. I reloaded Cursor, and everything worked fine again. Give it a shot.
