I’m evaluating Cursor for my company. I’m a bit confused about the pricing structure, because I noticed that https://cursor.com/pricing says that the Teams plan has “Everything in pro, plus” some admin controls (including unlimited tab completions). However, the Team Pricing page seems to describe an entirely different pricing scheme, and it lists “Custom model execution (Tab, Apply, etc.)” under a “Cursor Token Fee.” This seems contradictory? Are tabs included for teams plans as the pricing page suggests or billed as usage? If the later, how many tokens does Tab, Apply, etc. typically consume? Would the $20 usage be sufficient for most SWEs?
I’m not on the Cursor team, but based on my experience upgrading from Pro to Pro+, here is how the $20 credit actually works:
-
Unlimited Cursor Tab: This is now separate from your “Agent” usage, so you can code with Tab without burning through your credits.
-
Extended Agent Limits: You essentially get your $20 credit plus a “Bonus Usage” (subsidized by Cursor).
-
Why is it called “Extended”? If you use the Agent feature daily, $20 alone isn’t actually that much—especially if you check the token pricing for frontier models. You’ll burn through it quickly unless you stick to cheaper models like GPT-4o-mini or grok-code-1.
My usage example: It’s only December 30th and I’ve already burned $6 just from daily Agent use. Hope this gives you some insight into why Pro+ might be worth it for heavy users!
