Switched from Pro+ to Teams Premium – Cursor Models pool is smaller and more expensive

I was on Pro+ ($60/mo) and regularly saw around 2.5 billion tokens in the Cursor Models pool (Grok/Composer).

After switching to a Teams Premium seat ($120/mo), after one normal day of use I was already at:

  • 249.8 million tokens used
  • 17.5 % of the Cursor Models pool

That puts the total included pool at roughly 1.43 billion tokens.

Effective cost of included Cursor Models usage:

  • Pro+: ≈ $0.024 per 1 million tokens ($60 ÷ 2,500M)
  • Teams Premium: ≈ $0.084 per 1 million tokens ($120 ÷ 1,430M)

So the Premium seat is roughly 3.5× more expensive per token than Pro+ while giving me less total capacity.

Cursor’s claim that the Premium seat “covers a full month of heavy agent usage for 99 % of users” does not match my (not particularly heavy) usage pattern — at this rate the pool would be empty in less than a week.

Has anyone else made the same switch and seen similar numbers?

I was hoping Teams Premium ($120) would give me roughly double the usage compared to Pro+ ($60), but I can confirm that is definitely not the case.

Since I currently don’t need the team features, I suppose my best move would be to switch back to the individual plan and go Ultra.

I’m in the same boat – I switch to Team to get early access to Origin and now since Origin is available in Individual plans I’m looking to switch back but I can’t find any way to do that.

Help docs are useless. Posting on X is useless. Hella frustrated.

Anyone have ideas?

Ultra is just as bad if not worse on usage. note even 24 hours and I am at 10% for the week and I have barely touched anything. Extremely disappointing.

Hey @Daniel_Stanszus, thanks for breaking it all down with numbers.

Comparing by tokens won’t really work here. Included usage is counted by each model’s cost, not by the number of tokens. If one day has more Grok 4.7 High and another has more Composer, the same amount of usage limit will cover a different number of tokens. So you can’t directly compare different periods by tokens. The exact picture for your seat is in Dashboard > Usage.

What’s more important is this. Your team is on the older Standard/Premium seats from before The X Subscription. kevinn explained the difference vs individual plans in this thread: Usage limits in teams vs individual

With X Subscription, Teams now has Premium, Super, and Ultra seats at the same prices and with the same weekly usage as the individual plans. Details are here:

If you don’t need team features, an individual plan is also a totally fine option. For questions about moving your specific team, it’s best to ask [email protected].

I need help understanding my recent usage charges and restoring access to my plan.

On October 5, I paid $23.60 for usage. When I ran out of usage again, I made another payment of $23.71 on October 16.

However, today, October 17, I received another invoice for $47.65 for the same usage cycle starting October 5. My account is now showing an unpaid invoice, and my on-demand usage has been suspended.

I’m confused about why I’m being charged another $47.65 when I’ve already paid $23.60 and $23.71 for this cycle.

Could you please:

  1. Review my usage and billing history for October.

  2. Explain what the new $47.65 invoice covers and why it was generated after my previous payments.

  3. Confirm whether the earlier payments were applied correctly.

  4. Restore my plan and on-demand usage while this billing issue is being reviewed, if possible.

I’m happy to pay any legitimate outstanding balance once the charges have been clearly explained. However, I’d appreciate your help resolving this discrepancy before making another payment.

I’ve attached a screenshot of my billing history for reference.
