Is the cursor token fee applied only to team and enterprise plans, or does it also apply to the pro plan?

Hey, the Cursor Token Fee $0.25 per million tokens applies only to Team and Enterprise plans. It doesn’t apply to Pro individual plans.

Also worth noting, even on Team or Enterprise, the fee doesn’t apply when using the Auto mode.

In order:

  1. We don’t share details about future pricing changes ahead of time, so I can’t confirm or deny whether the token fee will ever apply to Pro. If anything changes, we’ll announce it publicly.

  2. Right now, Auto mode is the only way to avoid the Cursor Token Fee on Team or Enterprise. There’s no other workaround. Any non-Auto model request will include the 0.25 USD per 1M tokens fee.

For reference, Auto mode uses smart routing to pick the best model for each task, so in practice it works well for most workflows without needing to manually pick a specific model.

If cost efficiency is a priority and you don’t need team features like SSO, admin dashboard, or centralized billing, the Pro plan at 20 USD per month has no token fee at all. More on the differences here: Clarification on Cursor Pro vs Team Plan – Agent Usage and Token Allocation
