I have Macbook 2023 M1 Pro and updated the Cursor this morning.
It took 88GB RAM on my Macbook…
Steps to Reproduce
I think you should try Cursor 2.1.0 on Macbook M1 Pro
Operating System
MacOS
Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)
Version: 2.1.0
Vscode Version: 1.105.1
Does this stop you from using Cursor
Yes - Cursor is unusable

hi @oscarle and thanks for the report.
As this is not a common issue with a default installation we would need further information to identify the cause.
- Please check Help > Open Process Explorer and post here a screenshot of what the usage details are.
- Do you have any processes running in terminal within Cursor?
- Does this also occur on a new project? (would indicate large chat storage)
- Does this occur when you run with extensions disabled?
cursor --disable-extensions
